Southern Railway Recruitment against Scouts and Guides Quota
1. Vacancies Overview
The 12 Level 1 vacancies in the Southern Railway are spread as two posts each in Chennai, Tiruchchirappalli, Madurai, Palakkad, Thiruvananthapuram and Salem. These posts are open to people who meet the given conditions. The notice does not divide the vacancies based on community.
2. Eligibility Criteria (Scouts and Guides)
Being a member of Scouts and Guides is a must. Just having good academic results is not enough. You also need to meet the specific requirements for Scouts and Guides as given in the notice.
To be eligible, a candidate must:

Be a President's Scout, President's Guide, Rover, Ranger or have a Himalayan Wood Badge in any section.

Have been an active member of a Scouts group for the last five years.

Have a Certificate of Activeness in the required format.

3. Educational Qualifications
Level 2 Posts
For Level 2 posts, the educational qualifications vary based on the job type and the qualification accepted. You may have:

Matriculation along with a completed apprenticeship for the relevant technician posts.

Matriculation together with an ITI approved by NCVT for technician posts.
The 50% requirement in Class 12 does not apply to SC, ST and Ex-Servicemen candidates or those with a qualification higher than Class 12, as per the notice.
Level 1 Posts
For Level 1 posts, the following qualifications are accepted:

Class 10 from a recognized board.
