Selection Stages

  1. Preparation of Merit List

  2. Document Verification

  3. Medical Examination

The merit list is prepared using the marks obtained in the prescribed qualifying examinations, following the calculation method specified by RRC NCR.

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of merit are called for document verification. Those who satisfy the document requirements must subsequently meet the prescribed medical standards before engagement as apprentices.

How is the RRC NCR Apprentice Merit List Prepared?

The merit-based selection method considers the candidate's performance in Class 10th and ITI. The official notification specifies the method used to calculate the merit score.

Candidates should enter their marks accurately while completing the application because the information submitted online is used for preparing the merit list.

Any discrepancy between the marks entered in the application and the original certificates may create problems during document verification.

Is There a Written Exam for RRC NCR Apprentice Recruitment 2026?

No written examination or interview is conducted as the primary selection test for this apprentice engagement.

Candidates are shortlisted through the prescribed merit-based process using their qualifying examination marks. Shortlisted applicants then proceed to document verification and medical examination.

RRC NCR Apprentice Training 2026

The selected candidates will undergo apprenticeship training in designated trades under the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961.

The training is intended to provide practical exposure and trade-related skills in the railway environment. Training opportunities are available across different North Central Railway units and workshops for the 2026-27 session.

Candidates should understand that apprenticeship engagement is different from direct appointment to a permanent Railway post. Completion of apprenticeship training does not by itself create a right to permanent employment in Indian Railways.

Selected apprentices receive stipend according to the applicable apprenticeship rules and provisions governing the training period.

The stipend amount and other conditions may depend on the applicable apprenticeship regulations. Candidates should refer to the official notification and relevant rules for the latest details.
