RCF Apprenticeship 2026-27 in Brief

The following snapshot gives the main points of the current apprenticeship engagement without requiring applicants to go through the entire notification first.

How the 326 Seats Are Distributed

RCF has divided the intake according to the level and nature of training. This makes the recruitment relevant to people with different educational backgrounds rather than limiting it to a single qualification.

In other words, 177 seats are attached to Trombay and 149 seats are attached to Thal. Applicants have to choose their preferred training location while completing the online form.

Which Training Area Matches Your Qualification?

One of the most important parts of this notification is the variety of disciplines. A candidate should not select a vacancy simply because the title appears suitable; the qualification mentioned against that particular training area must also be satisfied.

For Degree Holders

The Graduate Apprentice intake contains three areas: Accounts Executive, Secretarial Assistant and Recruitment Executive (HR). There are 145 seats in this group.

For Engineering Diploma Holders

Diploma holders have six engineering streams to choose from under the Technician Apprentice group. Each of these training areas carries a 12-month duration.

For Science and 12th-Level Candidates

The Trade Apprentice section combines chemical-plant related training with several trades that accept candidates from the 10+2 level, according to the individual qualification requirement.

The Marks Requirement Matters

RCF has specified a minimum percentage requirement for the prescribed qualification. For the applicable categories, the minimum qualifying percentage is 50%, with the relaxation provided under the notification for eligible reserved categories.

Merit is prepared using marks from the essential qualification. Therefore, candidates should enter their academic percentage correctly rather than estimating or rounding their marks without following the applicable calculation method.

If the University or Institute awards CGPA, CPI or grades instead of a percentage, the equivalent percentage has to be calculated according to that institution's own conversion rules and supported by the required certificate.

Eligibility Checks Before Applying

Apart from holding the prescribed qualification, applicants must satisfy several additional conditions. Some of these restrictions are particularly important for candidates who have already undergone training or are currently studying.

• The required qualification must be from a recognised University or Institute.
• The qualification must have been completed through the prescribed regular full-time route.
• Distance, part-time and correspondence qualifications are not accepted where excluded by the notification.
• Allied engineering branches cannot be substituted for the specified diploma discipline.
• The passing certificate or final-year mark sheet for the required qualification must be dated on or after 01 July 2023.
• A person who has already completed Act Apprenticeship training is not eligible.
• Candidates with one year or more of job experience are not eligible under the stated conditions.
• Applicants who are pursuing higher studies are not eligible.

Candidates who do not yet have the passing certificate may apply where permitted, but the original certificate must be produced during document verification.

Age Rule for the 2026-27 Intake

The age condition is straightforward: applicants must have completed 18 years and must not have crossed 25 years as on 01 September 2026.

Relaxation is available to eligible candidates according to the category-specific rules in the advertisement.

How Much Stipend Will Apprentices Receive?

This is an apprenticeship engagement, so the payment is a training stipend rather than a regular employee salary. The amount varies according to the training category.

For Graduate and Technician Apprentices, the stipend is made up of the applicable RCF and BOAT components. For the other listed Trade Apprentice areas, the prescribed amount is paid by RCF according to the notification.

Where Will the Training Take Place?

The apprenticeship programme is centred around two RCF locations in Maharashtra:

• Trombay, Chembur, Mumbai
• Thal, Raigad District

Applicants must select one of these locations in the application form. The selected location cannot be changed later, and the apprenticeship assignment remains tied to the chosen unit during the training period.

Training Hours and Attendance

Apprentices are expected to follow the training schedule prescribed for their category. Graduate Apprentices generally follow a 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM schedule, while Technician and Trade Apprentices generally follow 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding weekly offs and holidays.

Attendance is recorded through the company's Face Recognition-based Attendance System. Both entry and exit attendance are required, and attendance irregularities can affect the stipend according to the applicable rules.

How RCF Will Prepare the Selection List

There is no conventional competitive written examination described for this apprenticeship intake. Instead, the first stage is an academic merit assessment based on the marks obtained in the required qualification.

After the merit list is prepared, shortlisted applicants move to Document Verification. Their educational records, identity information and other supporting documents are checked before the apprenticeship engagement is finalised.

The final step involves approval of the apprenticeship contract on the appropriate NATS or NAPS portal. Candidates must complete the required formalities and report within the prescribed time after contract approval.

If Two Candidates Have the Same Marks

The notification provides tie-breaking provisions. Where candidates have identical merit marks, the candidate with the higher qualification receives preference. If the qualification is also the same, the marks in the preceding qualification are considered according to the applicable rule.

NATS and NAPS Registration

Apprenticeship portal registration is an important part of the process. The portal depends on the type of apprenticeship being selected.

Candidates should ensure that the details on their apprenticeship portal registration correspond with the information supplied in the RCF application.

Instead of waiting until the closing day, applicants can finish the process in a few simple stages.

1. First identify the single discipline for which your qualification matches the notification.

4. Choose either Trombay or Thal as the training location.

Is This a Regular RCF Job?

No. These positions are for apprenticeship training under the applicable apprenticeship framework. The engagement provides practical training and a stipend, but it is not the same as appointment to a regular employee position.

Completion of the training does not give an apprentice an automatic claim to permanent employment with RCF. Candidates should therefore consider the opportunity as a route to structured industrial training and practical exposure.

Why the Location Choice Deserves Attention

The application requires candidates to select either Trombay or Thal. This is more than a preference field because the selected location is not intended to be changed after submission.

Applicants should therefore consider travel, accommodation and personal arrangements before selecting the unit. The final allocation is linked to the approved intake at the respective location.

Frequently asked questions

Can a graduate apply for every Graduate Apprentice area?

Not necessarily. The candidate must satisfy the qualification and other conditions specified for the particular training area. For example, Accounts Executive has a more specific degree requirement than areas accepting any graduate.

Are engineering diploma holders eligible for the Technician category?

Yes, provided their diploma is in one of the specified engineering disciplines and they satisfy the remaining eligibility conditions.

Is an entrance examination conducted?
