Examination Fees

Clause Details
(i) The examination fee shall be paid through the Payment Gateway using Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking / Wallet / Bharat QR / UPI. Related information is available on the Commission’s website: www.jpsc.gov.in.
(ii) For Unreserved, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Backward Class-I (BC-I) and Backward Class-II (BC-II) category candidates, the examination fee is ?100/- (Rupees One Hundred only).
(iii) Fee Exemption: Candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribe (ST), Primitive Tribe, and Scheduled Caste (SC) of Jharkhand State are required to pay an examination fee of ?50/- (Rupees Fifty only).

If candidates belonging to these categories apply from outside Jharkhand State or deposit the fee at a rate different from the prescribed one, their application form will be rejected after verification and no refund of the examination fee will be made. The examination fee is Non-Refundable.
(iv) Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates (with at least 40% disability) are exempted from payment of the examination fee.

Scheme and Subjects for the Preliminary and Main Examination

  • The Preliminary Examination will have two papers with objective-type questions (Multiple Choice Questions), and the total marks for these papers will be 400.
  • This exam is only for screening purposes.
  • The marks scored in the Preliminary Examination by candidates who are found eligible for the Main Examination will not be used to decide their final ranking.
  • There is no penalty for wrong answers in the Preliminary Examination.
  • If a candidate gives more than one answer to a question, it will be considered incorrect, even if one of the answers is right, and no marks will be given for that question.
  • If a question is left unanswered, the candidate will not be penalized for it.
