Eligibility Criteria: Qualifications & Age Ceiling

1. Educational & Technical Qualifications

• Class 10 Pass: Matriculation (Class 10) or equivalent examination pass from a recognized Education Board.

• ITI Trade Certificate: Industrial Training Institute (ITI) pass certificate / National Trade Certificate (NTC) issued by NCVT / SCVT in relevant technical trades (Fitter, Machinist, Electrician, Electronics, Welder, Turner, or Instrument Mechanic).

2. Age Boundaries & Relaxations

• Minimum Age: 18 Years

• Maximum Age: 27 Years (reckoned as of the closing date for receipt of offline applications)

• Age Relaxations: Upper age limits are relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL), and up to 10–15 years for PwBD and Ex-Servicemen as per Central Government rules.

Selection Scheme & Evaluation Stages

The selection process for DGQA Technician posts involves objective testing and practical verification:

1. Initial Application Screening: Applications are scrutinized based on essential eligibility parameters, trade certificates, and completeness.

2. Written Examination: Objective assessment testing General Intelligence, Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, General English, and Trade-specific subject knowledge.

3. Skill/Trade Assessment Test: Qualifying trade test conducted to evaluate practical craftsmanship and workshop handling capability.

4. Document Check & Medical Exam: Authentic validation of original marksheets, caste certificates, and pre-appointment medical evaluation by military medical boards.

How to Apply Offline for DGQA Technician 2026

1. Visit the official DGQA web portal at www.dgqadefence.gov.in or obtain the standard application format published in the official Employment News notice.

2. Print the application form on clean A4 size paper.

3. Fill in all required fields accurately in block letters using a blue/black ballpoint pen.

4. Attach self-attested photocopies of essential supporting documents:

   • Class 10 Marksheet and Passing Certificate

   • ITI / NTC Certificate & Marksheets in relevant trade

   • Caste / Category Certificate (if applicable)

   • Discharge Book / PPO copy (for Ex-Servicemen)

   • Two recent passport-size photographs (one pasted on the form and one enclosed)

   • Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope (with requisite postal stamp)

5. Superscribe the main outer envelope clearly with: "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF TECHNICIAN (SEMI-SKILLED) — ADVT NO. ____".

6. Dispatch the completed application packet by Registered Post or Speed Post to the official establishment postal address specified in the notification within 21 days from the publication date in Employment News.
